Another very low keyed weekend gone by. We still haven't had enough of these to be bored yet- they are still a novelty and we are enjoying them so very much!
We had a good week. Mom and I both had Monday off for Martin Luther King day. Instead of doing something constructive like learning about civil rights and equality etc., we went out for breakfast and a movie. Breakfast was at a place called Snooze and I'll be ding donged if it wasn't the best darn breakfast we've ever had. I got chocolate chip pancakes and a scrambled egg. I'm still talking about the egg today and am demanding to go back for more. Mom hit the trifecta with her breakfast of a flight of pancakes- one buttermilk pancake with pumpkin creme, carmalized pepitas and chile-maple syrup, one pineapple upside down pancake and one red velvet pancake. It was the first time she was ever stopped in her tracks by a pancake. Soooo good. I helped her finish the red velvet pancake and I am still talking about that pancake too. After mom recovered from her sugar coma, we went to see "We Bought a Zoo". It was a really cute movie but maybe just a bit old for me. I got a tad fidgety about half way through but we made it and had a good time.
The rest of the week was nothing special and Friday night was dinner at my favorite bar- Lodos. It had been closed for remodeling for awhile so I was very excited it was open again.
We had a good sleep in morning on Saturday and then in the afternoon, mom and I headed over to my friend Sophia's house. Her mom and my mom are our Daisy Troop leaders and they got to spend the afternoon in a freezing cold garage, sorting and passing out our cookies for our big cookie sale. I had a really fun time but I'm not so sure about the moms.
On Sunday morning, mom and I ventured out to actually sell my cookies but it turns out that Sunday morning at 11:30 isn't a great time. Either no one was answering their door or else they weren't home. We managed to sell 4 boxes to the neighbors and 15 boxes to family. Mom even let me buy my own box of Savannah Smiles, the new lemon flavor which I love. We might head out Monday after work to see if anyone is home then- we'll see.
So, after a disappointing morning of sales, we headed out for a nice long walk with the dogs.
(This is Halie, kind of missing the mark on her frisbee)
We walked to a pond about a mile from our house. It was terribly windy and pretty danged cold as you can tell, but our new motto is "There is no bad weather, only bad clothing." Mom must have had on really bad gloves because she couldn't feel her fingers by the time we got back. Makes it a little hard to open your beer!
We had a nice evening and everyone hit the sack early. Hope you have a great weekend! And buy my Girl Scout cookies!
