Welcome to the Life and Times of Jordan! I am an amazingly sweet, very talkative, slightly silly, occasionally exasperating little girl. This is my take on the world. Hope you enjoy it!

What I did today
Today, I rolled from my back to my tummy all by myself. I was on my back and mom turned away for a minute to ask Ms. Michelle how I did in daycare and when she turned back around, I was propped up on my elbows. Her eyes got really big and so did her mouth. I guess she was surprized. I think Ms. Michelle was surprized too. I also found my feet today. They are pretty cool and I imagine one day soon I'll know what they taste like. Mmmmm!

Big Blog
Finally, a weekend with some stuff to report! Nana D flew in from Albuquerque on Friday night for a weekend visit. It was just the girls because dad had left for Flagstaff already for his bike race. Nana was so happy to see me and couldn't believe how much I'd grown in 5 weeks. I greeted her with a nice cry- lovely of me!
Saturday night, mom and dad went to see the Lion King while Nana got to babysit me. I was so good and Nana and I got some good, quality floor time and bonding time. I didn't even have my 6:15 meltdown. See how much I like my Nana?! Mom and dad really liked the Lion King- the costumes were very cool and the sound was the best they had heard in all the shows they've been to. Mom missed having me there though, she thinks I really would have liked the music.
On Sunday, mom had big plans to go for a run or bike ride with dad but opted for sleep instead. I let them sleep until 6 AM. How nice am I? Since Nana was still here, mom and dad spent time splashing in the pool without having to worry about me.
Nana left on Sunday and I cried (screamed actually) the whole way to the airport. A fine send off, don't you think.
Mom went to a wedding shower Sunday night(the start of their crazy busy wedding season) and dad drafted his team for his fantasy football league. All in all a good weekend!
Today, mom and I are home because I threw up 7 times in an hour at daycare yesterday. They called mom at 10:30 and she came over in a panic. I really looked miserable. We went home and she called the doctor. Of course, it was nothing. I felt great after taking a nap. Mom thinks it was maybe some overexcitement or maybe a milk allergy (hopefully not). I'm not allowed back until I've felt good for 24 hours, so today is a free day. Whew- that is alot of talking. This stupid blog won't upload my pictures today, so you will have to wait for another day!
On Saturday, the girls went to the farmer's market and mom went crazy buying all kinds of good fruits and veggies. Peaches and tomatoes are in season and they tasted so yummy!
We spent the rest of the day bumming around waiting for dad to get home. He did really well in his race. He finished in the top 10 for his category and is much happier with this finish then with his last race.Saturday night, mom and dad went to see the Lion King while Nana got to babysit me. We did it!
We made it through our first week of work/daycare. Mom did OK- she is a little tired but it was nice to be back and she really likes her hours. Just enough to feel like she is back in the world but still enough time to spend with me. She has really liked catching up with everyone at work and hearing the lastest gossip.
I am doing great at daycare. Some of moms friends have stopped in to see how I am doing and told mom I'm having a great time. That is the best part about this daycare is lots of people can check on lots of peoples kids. It takes a village you know!
Dad is also doing good. His back is much better now and he is taking off today after lunch for his bike race.
This is our first day off from work and daycare. We celebrated by sleeping in a bit and dad took the day off work to get himself together. Mom and I are laying low and getting the house cleaned up and ready for Nana D.

Settling in

We have recovered nicely from Sunday night/Moday morning's disaster. I am doing very well with daycare- I'm slowly figuring out how to sleep with all the racket going on. Some of the babies are SO LOUD and much to mom's amusement, I'm starting to make some of those lovely noises myself. I'm still exhausted though.
Dad's back is better and he is back to riding. He is planning on going to Flagstaff in Northern Arizona for the state championship race. He wants to make a weekend of it with some camping and racing. He's hoping for fewer hills and that the altitude gods will be nice to him.
Mom is pooped from working. She is working in the hospital and isn't used to actually having to move much and having adult conversations. She has been sleeping hard at night too.
Nana D is coming in for a visit this weekend and we are all very excited. Maybe that has something to do with dad's decision to go to Flagstaff this weekend. Naaa.

Whew- what a day!
Well, I made it through my first day of daycare. More on that later. The adventure really started last night. Very weird night in the Goedel house. It all started with dad's on again, off again back pain. Mom thinks it is a thoracic disk problem and boy was it on last night. He hurt so much he couldn't hold me and it hurt to take a deep breath. He didn't sleep well. Mom went to bed about 9 and woke up about an hour later feeling kind of nauseated. She couldn't get back to sleep cause she wasn't feeling good and then I woke up at 11 screaming for food. Very odd for me. Then about 11:45 mom started feeling REALLY nauseated and proceeded to deposit all of her dinner into the porcelin bowl. She felt much better. Finally, the dogs were so restless and running in and out of the doggie door and waking the whole house that we finally closed the doggie door only to be awoken an hour later by doggie panic. Haile REALLY had to pee. Not a good start to the week. Mom was thinking it was a sign she shouldn't go back to work.
Much to mom's suprize, I survived in daycare. Ms. Christa said I had a great day. Mom was able to come over and feed me at 7, 10 and 1. She loves her job! I didn't get to sleep as much as I'm used to. The good thing is, mom put me down for a nap before dinner and I slept right through my 6:15 meltdown. I didn't even make it to my 8PM bedtime. I sure had a good day but boy am I exhausted. All in all a good day considering how it started. Oh yeah, mom hardly cried at all dropping me off. It helped she saw two of her co-workers dropping their kids off too.
Off to bed for me- good night!

Shoulda Went to Costco

Today, dad entered his first official bike race. He was asked to join Saguaro Velo, a bike team here in Tucson and this was his first race with the team. He opened a can of whoop-&*#$. Unfortunately, he bought his can in the trial-size department at Target and he should have bought it at Costco. He got a little suspicious when he saw there were only 8 riders in his category. It was all hill climbs and he was hurting just a bit at the end. The good news is, he didn't finish last. Mom tries to tell him it is just motivation for his next race but dad really doesn't like to lose.
While dad was sweating and hating life, mom and I went to the library to pick up the schedule for story time and then to the grocery store.
Dad treated us to a huge dinner at Fuddruckers as he was craving something really bad for him then we went for a walk at the park. I cried most of the way but mom and dad figured the fresh air was good for me.

Super Trooper

Today, I had to go in for my 3 month shots. I was in such a great mood this morning so mom was worried that would be ruined but I did so good. I got my shots, screamed, ate and then mom gave me my Tylenol and I napped for about 2 1/2 hours and then I was in my great mood again. I have been very smiley and talkative today.
Yesterday, mom took me into daycare to visit and get my cubby set up. I LOVED it there. All the toys and babies made me smile. Guess what it did to mom? Yeah- she got teary. Apparently, I look very cute, very small and very vulnerable. We stayed for about 30 minutes and I didn't cry at all even though it was my nap time. We got down on the floor and played with some toys and some of the other babies. So cool for me! Only 3 more days.
Mom included a picture of me in deep thought about the current state of world affairs. Hhhhmmm.

Birthday greetings and rolling over
Well, first off, mom wants to wish a happy belated birthday to her friend Cathy in Albuquerque. Her birthday was the 9th of August. They go way back to high school. Those are some funny pictures! Mom's friend from college- Michelle, is celebrating her big day today. Happy birthday both of you. Cards are on the way- sorry mom is such a slacker. She is to busy crying over my formula!
The other big news is that I rolled from my belly to my back today. Mom thought is was a fluke so she made me do it again. So I did. And not again since! I propped up on my elbow for a few seconds and then pushed myself over. Of course, maybe my huge head pulled me over. Whatever, we'll take it.

Get a Grip Mom!
Another wild and crazy weekend in the Goedel house. I'm not sure how mom and dad keep up. Friday night we did not much. I was in bed by 8 and I think mom had a glass of wine. Ya-hoo.
Saturday night we all went to Edy and Rob's for dinner. Rob grilled some halibut to absolute perfection and Edy made yummy fried rice and chinese chicken salad. So good. I was like clockwork with a crying fit at 6:15 PM and then again at 8:04 (my bedtime is 8). I screamed the whole way home and then fell right asleep in my crib.
Mom and I only have one more week at home then off to daycare. Since I'm going to have to use formula at daycare, mom decided to do a trial run today. She cried!!! Can you believe it? She is going to be a basket case when I go to daycare, start kindergarten, graduate high school, go to college, graduate college, get married, have a baby.... How did I end up with such a sap for a mother? I think it is all Nana D's fault. She can be pretty sappy too. ( I did just great with the formula, by the way. A few stinky burps and that was all.)

Movin' and Movin' On

I am so over my fish gym and rattle dog. My new love is my bee. It makes all kinds of funny noises when mom moves its wings. I'm sort of figuring out how to grab the wings myself but it is still pretty hit and miss. That thing sure makes me smile. The fish gym just doesn't cut it anymore- yawn.
Mom has been making spend a lot more time on my belly since I tried rolling onto it the other day. I'm making really fast progress and am able hold my head way up for a few brief seconds. That is only with 2 days of practice- imagine what I'll be capable of by next week. I am actually enjoying the freedom of not having mom in my face 24/7. Aaahh.
That's all for now.

A Few Firsts

I had some fun "firsts" the past few days. I got into our pool for the first time and I think I enjoyed it. I tend to melt down every night around 6PM so mom had the idea of putting me in the pool to take my mind off whatever it is that ticks me off at the time of day. It worked for a little while. It was definately a new sensation.
Today, I rolled from my back to my tummy. It may have just been the slope of the bed helping me along. Mom isn't sure whether to be excited or worried. I can't quite lift my head when I'm on my tummy and I can't roll back over. Mom is hoping I don't try this in the middle of the night. Any advice from other moms?
Mom bought me a really fun CD this weekend. It is called "Free to be you and me". She had it has little girl and loved it. Now I can listen to it too. I really like to dance to the songs when she sings to me. Wheee!

A Girls Weekend

Wow, what a whirlwind weekend. Mom's friend Heidi came in for a few days. I got toted from Fourth Avenue (the hippie hangout) to La Encantada ( the movie star hangout) to Mt. Lemmon and everywhere in between. We shopped and ate our way through Tucson. My favorite day was Mt. Lemmon because it was nice and cool up there and there was still a lot water from all the rain last week. So green. Mom and Heidi had a few nights without me. They went to see a movie at the newly restored Fox Theatre and had dinner one night at Bistro Zin- mom's favorite resturaunt. They had a huge dinner and then got Chocolate Bars of Zin for dessert. They couldn't finish they and got them to go. Heidi ate hers for breakfast today. Now, that's hardcore! I was very good all weekend and only cried a few times. Mom is starting to think I'm a pretty laid back kid.
This past Friday, mom, dad and I went to my new daycare for orientation. Mom and dad are little overwhelmed by all the daily paperwork, cubby and basket filling and bottle labeling that goes on. I think I made a friend already. I was on the floor in my carseat when a little baby boy scooted over to me to say "hi". Ms. Christa says he is very social. I guess so!

Happy Birthday Auntie Dana!

Today is my Aunt Dana's birthday. She lives in Dallas with my Uncle Tim and cousin Brooke. I haven't got to meet them officially yet but hopefully soon. They are having another baby (another girl! So many Goedel girls now) around Thanksgiving. She and Uncle Tim went on a short vacation and left the 2 grandpas in charge. Mom and dad would have loved to see them in action. Have a great day Aunt Dana!
