Welcome to the Life and Times of Jordan! I am an amazingly sweet, very talkative, slightly silly, occasionally exasperating little girl. This is my take on the world. Hope you enjoy it!

Happy Birthday Tammye!
Today is mom's friend Tammye's birthday. They have know each other since Tammye was 4 and mom was 6. Mom had her first slumber party at Tammye's house and made her first solo plane trip to visit her when Tammye moved to Phoenix. She used to love mustard and lettuce on white bread. I wonder if her tastes have changed? Hope you had a pampered day!

Happy Birthday Heidi!

Today is Heidi's birthday. She was mom's college roommate and maid of honor in mom and dad's wedding. Heidi is mom's idol. She has 4 extremely busy kids, works part time, was patient while her husband finished up his MBA and traveled all over for work and still found time to train for a 3 day breast cancer walk and now for a sprint triathalon. She is pretty much the uber-mom. We are exhausted just writing about it. Hope you enjoyed your day, young thang! Now, onto me and my most recent accomplishments. I am now standing(for short periods of time) without any support. I really don't think it is any big deal, but mom and dad are impressed. Dad says a whole new world is about to open up for me- we'll see.

Fun with Nana

Where do I start?! So many things happened this weekend. Probably the best is that Nana D came to visit. Woo-hoo! Mom and dad both had to work on Friday so Nana and I got to spend the whole day together and then Nana kicked mom and dad out of the house for a "date night" that night, so we got the evening to ourselves too. We had so much fun and Nana thinks I was such a good kid. We couldn't really go anywhere because it was cloudy, windy and rainy but she introduced me to the joys of an empty oatmeal carton. Good stuff until our dog Daisy got hold of it and chewed it up. Oh well, plenty more where that came from. Nana never stays long enough though. She left Saturday afternoon, she says to give mom and dad more of their weekend. She apparently doesn't understand that they have more of a weekend when she is here as they take full advantage of "nana time"!Sunday's weather ended up being a lot warmer, so mom and dad took me to the park to play on the swings. I really like them now and I also like to play in the wood chips on the ground. Pretty interesting stuff if you ever stop to really look. We got back from the playground and mom gave me a bath which I really like also. The part I HATE is the diaper putting on after, so I made my great escape into the kitchen before she got that far. The floor is a little cold, so I try to stay on my hands and feet, instead of my hands and knees. It isn't as fast so mom caught me pretty quick. She said something about blackmail pictures for prom. What does she mean?!
I've learned a few new things over the past few days. I really like helping with the laundry now. I help mom and dad do theirs and mine and I help Miss Julie at daycare first thing in the morning. I mainly help get the clothes out of the hamper and spread them on the floor so it is easier for everyone to sort out. The other more fun thing I've learned is how to give kisses. They are a little sloppy but mom and dad sure love getting them!

How Can I Wake Thee, Let Me Count.....

Dallas is COLD and we are woosies! We flew out this weekend to visit Uncle Tim, Aunt Dana and cousins Brooke and Faith. I did really well on the plane again. We took Grandma Sue with us and she hasn't flown for over 25 years. I explained things to her, showed her the flight safety card (over and over and over) then showed her the skymall catalog (over and over and over). I think I was a good teacher because she seemed pretty relaxed. I got a huge kick looking out the window when we were landing- things look pretty cool from up high. We finally got to the house about 7 and I was in bed about and hour later. Mom and dad thought everything was going smoothly until I woke them up at 2 in the morning with a coughing fit and just general fussiness. It was the start of a fun day to come. Friday, it was just to darn cold to even look out the window. The lake behind the house had frozen over night and it was windy. I didn't feel good AGAIN and so wasn't to interested in all the new toys- I tried but my heart just wasn't in it. I wasn't into napping either. Cousin Faith was a little fussy too, so it was a fun day for all! Friday night, I woke mom and dad up again and wouldn't go back to sleep. Dad ended up sleeping on the floor next to my crib. That made me feel a whole lot better and I was able to get some sleep. Come to find out the next morning, that Uncle Tim was asleep on the floor of Brooke's room because she wasn't sleeping well either! We could have had a party!
The next day was a little warmer but very windy so again not much outdoor fun. We did manage to corral everyone for a trip to Dave and Buster's. That is a big arcade/restuarant. The dad's won us some cool toys as souvenirs. I felt better on Saturday, so I gave Brooke a run for her money on the toys. She is learning the whole "sharing" thing and I could really care less! I finished the weekend by waking mom and dad again but I think I really pushed them to the edge. I think I heard them say "We love you Jordan, but really, this has got to stop!" So I did.
We left on Sunday morning and I conked out the minute the plane took off and slept for an hour and a half. Whew!
All in all it was a much more fun weekend than it sounds. It was so good to see the family again and Uncle Tim is a fabulous cook. Even though the adults out numbered us 5 to 3, I think we showed them that 3 babies under 2 is a lot of work! Thanks for the good times!

The Year of the Pig

In the Asian calender, it is the year of the pig. My grandma Sue is from South Korea and she was born in the year of the pig, so she is kind of excited about this whole thing. To celebrate all the goings-on, she bought me a toy pig. It is wearing satin boxers with hearts on them and it oinks out the song "I'm to sexy", and kind of shuffles in place. I LOVE THIS THING! It makes me laugh and laugh and bounce up and down and laugh some more. It even keeps me occupied enough that I'll lie still and let mom change my diaper. Not an easy feat. Hope everyone enjoys a prosperous year of the pig!

Cruisin' on a Sunday afternoon
Another decent weekend in the Goedel household. Mom and I headed out to the Gem and Mineral Show on Friday. It is supposed to be the biggest show in the US (the world?) and vendors from all over the world come with the minerals and gemstones and jewelry. They take over all the hotels and sell stuff right out of the rooms. It is like the United Nations here in February. Anyway, I really like the sparkly stuff and I know the vendors loved me banging on their display cases and leaving my snotty fingerprints on the glass. After that, we went to the park and had a picnic since it was almost 80 degrees. Aaahh, paradise!
On Saturday, Dad and I went to see Grandma Sue and then went up to Tiffany to get mom's Valentine's day present. He picked out a really pretty silver necklace and I got her a heart mobile from the paper store next door. Again, I loved the shiny stuff and you know the sales staff at Tiffany loved my fingerprints! Since dad absolutely can't keep a secret, we gave her our presents early- she was very excited when she saw the pretty blue box and even more excited when she saw the necklace. Dad and I have fabulous taste!
That night, we went Mom's office manager's house. She is from Mexico and made us all homemade tamales, enchiladas, beans, rice and tortillas. Her husband makes a mean margarits too.(not that I would know!) I did really well, although I'm in a "stranger danger" phase and really only wanted mom and dad. The only other person I would go to was Diana (the office manager) because she had on a shiny shirt and she let me play with her shiny jewelry. I can't wait until I can eat real food- I desperately wanted a bite of that tamale!
On Sunday, we all laid low. I'm getting over my latest cold and mom is starting round two of hers. We are heading to Dallas on Thursday to see Uncle Tim, Aunt Dana and cousins Brooke and Faith. We will see how many germs we can take with us.
On the motor developement side, I'm learning how to cruise. I'm still kind of unsure about the whole thing but I can see where this would be adventageous. I'm also able to stand and hold on with only one hand and pull mom's laundry out of the basket with my other hand. So much to do, so little time! Keep warm this week everyone!

Culinary adventures

Cold and flu season STINKS! I am home again sick- been up since 3 this morning with the snotsies. Mom fed me breakfast, gave me some Tylenol, put me back to bed and will make a goal of getting back to daycare by 10 this morning. I am burning through her PTO very quickly. We will all be much happier when the noses stop running- I think mine has been running non-stop since Christmas!
On the plus side, the weather has finally warmed up. It was 80 degrees yesterday! Sorry all you suffering midwesters and east coasters. I think you got all our cold weather and then some. It only seems fair though. We don't put up with 115 degree summers to have snow in the winter! We are sending our warm thoughts your way.
I have been expanding my food repetoire. I now like avocados (with a little onion powder), bananas (sorry V- you're going to be feeding baby Wellman nasty things too) and most fun, rice cakes. Mom has also started me on turkey which she thinks is even grosser than the peas. I don't think it is too awful though. Now that I'm feeding myself more, the dogs are becoming a little like sharks circling for feeding time. I'm pretty generous to them.

The next generation
Holy Cats- I'm exhausted! Mom and dad dragged me all over tarnation this weekend and it was very fun. Dad is back to his every other Friday off at work ( He works 9 hour days to make up for it), so we drove up to Mt. Lemmon to see the snow. Mt. Lemmon is the mountain behind Tucson, about 45 minutes from our driveway. Can you believe so much snow, so close to Tucson. I wasn't over thrilled with it, but I did develop a little taste for the white stuff and found it very interesting to crunch my feet in it. I still don't have enough winter clothes, so we kept the trip pretty short. On Saturday, we had a mini Goedel family reunion. One of dad's cousins is being transferred to Hawaii (poor guy!) so we had a going away barbeque at cousin Sharon's house in Sierra Vista. There were so many babies there- Ashley is almost 2, Jerrod is 16 months, I'm 8 months and Maggie is almost 3 months. All the grandpas and grandmas were thrilled to see how good looking the next generation is turning out to be! I had a blast at cousin Sharon's house. They have SO MANY TOYS! Mom and dad are kind of slackers in that department. I'm getting bored with my wooden spoon and spatula. Anyway, I just dove right in and it was even better than daycare because I really didn't have to share with anyone! I'll be back Sharon and Wayne!
On Sunday, Dad was up at O'dark thirty to drive to a bike race in Phoenix. He did really well considering he was really sick 2 weeks ago and couldn't ride and last week, the weather was to yucky to ride. We don't have the official results, but it looks like a possible top 10 finish. AND, he has a bum knee. Any more excuses dad? Great job!
After he got home, we went to our friends John and Christy's house for a superbowl party. Guess what?! MORE KIDS and MORE TOYS! Woo-hoo! I hit the motherload this weekend! Again, I had a great time and just dove right in. I stole toys from the bigger kids and stole Sienna's cracker (she's almost 2) right out of her hand! Who knew I was such a bully- mom may have to work on that one. Well, it was a super fun weekend for me and too pooped to party much more, so we'll see you later in the week.
