I'll Wake You When It's Over

OK- before we start, I need everyone to stand up, walk around and stretch a bit.  I need you wide awake because this is one snoozer of a blog and I don't want you falling asleep.
We did not do anything this week/weekend.  The end.

Well, mom and I went to the zoo on Wednesday and that was fairly fun for me.  All of the animals were either pooping or peeing.  Thankfully, those are no longer my favorite topics of conversation but I still think they are interesting enough that I got kick out of it.  I even have a few stories.  Mom and I were watching the hippos swim around when one surfaced near us.  We watched as it slowly raised its hind end out of the water and started wagging its tail.  Everyone laughed...Ha ha, how cute look- hippos wag their tails when they are happy!  No, they don't.  Apparently, they wag their tails when they poop, thus flinging poop everywhere in an ever expanding radius.  Mom and I literally had to take a step back to avoid the shower.
Then, it was onto the monkeys.  The Denver Zoo has a new exhibit that houses the monkeys on islands in the middle of little lakes.  The islands are connected by ropes overhead that the monkeys can cross to get from one island to the next.  Well, it turns out the girl monkey likes to do her dooty while hanging from the rope that crosses over the path where people walk.  We got a big, fat warning from the zoo volunteer to keep moving as the girl was directly overhead.  We avoided that but got to see the boy monkey hanging from his rope, peeing into the water.  Hours of entertainment, I tell ya!
As you can see, I'm not the only one interested in body fluid elimination.
The rest of the week was pretty boring compared to that.  Mom worked and grocery shopped on Saturday (woo hoo!!) so dad and I had a daddy/daughter day.  We went to Monster Mini Golf (where dad took a really cool picture but mom forgot upload it, so you'll have to wait until next week), then to a "decorate your own" cupcake place and THEN to McDonalds.  We tore it up!
We are FINALLY going camping in two weeks- our first trip since we moved to Colorado and we will be camping at the headwaters of the Arkansas River.  Our campsite is close to the river and fishing so we spent Sunday running all over town looking for a decent fishing rod for me.  We didn't really find one so we just settled on the kiddie rod and are hoping I don't catch anything to big.  I did get a cool new tackle box with lots of lures in it though, so that was hours of fun for me.
Sunday night, we went to our old neighbor's house for dinner and that was loads and loads of fun.  I got to play with my old friend Collin and one of my BFFs Camryn.  The adults all had a fabulous time as well, drank too much sangria, ate too much food and went to bed to late.  It was a fun night but made for a rough Monday morning!

I'm hoping we have a few more things to report in next week's blog, so hang in there, fearless readers!
