So, I got mom and dad a little excited/nervous last night. Dad was complaining about being bored with nothing to do and didn't like any of mom's fabulous suggestions of picnics or stargazing. I decided to contribute my own idea! Mom had a little "show" and comes running out yammering about needing to call the birth center because "something is happening!" The midwife had them come to hospital just to be checked out. Dad had to finish his dinner and they both had to pack their bags (hopefully, they learned their preparedeness lesson!), shower and finally get themselves to the hospital. Mom was put on a monitor for about 2 hours. I, of course sounded really good and mom had a few contractions. She thought they were just gas. I worry about her intuition sometimes. She is 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. It is a start but not enough to get me going so mom and dad were sent home to sleep. The midwife did say she would be suprised if we made it to Friday but mom isn't getting her hopes up.
I think today, mom is going to try shopping as a labor inducer. My uncle Adam's big 30th birthday is coming up and she wants to find something appropriately grown up for him. Hmmmmm.
