Baaalloooons!

Lots to talk about tonight- where to begin!  We got up at practically midnight on Friday to drive to Albuquerque (OK maybe it was 4:30AM but it felt like midnight) and we got to spend a long, leisurely afternoon with Nana and Mr. and Uncle Adam.  After a nice picnic in the front yard, mom and Nana headed out to an art show with mom at the helm of Mr. Walker's Smart Car.  It was a very fun car to drive and very easy to park!  Dad and I tried to take a nap but I spent most of the time trying to put dad to sleep.  Uncle Adam came up for dinner and kept me entertained by playing catch and tag with me.  I wasn't to excited about coming in for dinner.
I finally made it to bed but dad ended up sleeping in my room with me because I was a little freaked out by my new surroundings.  I slept great- dad not so much.  I guess I'm a pretty active sleeper.
On Saturday, we got up again at almost midnight (really 4:45) to get to the Balloon Fiesta.  This is mom's favorite thing ever.  We got everyone situated with their breakfast burritos (eggs, bacon, cheese, green chile and pinto beans- so good at 5:30 in the morning) and their coffee and started our balloon watching.  It was pretty much the coolest thing ever.  I saw all kinds of different colors, shapes and sizes and we ran from one end of the field to the other so we saw all 621 balloons go off.  I refused to walk or use my stroller the entire morning so mom got an extra workout carrying me around for 4 hours.  After all the balloons launched, we spent some quality family time rolling around the grass and chasing me around.  Mom snuck off and ate an entire huge cinnamon roll all by herself.  Oink, mom!
We got home about 11 and mom, dad and Mr. Walker went out for a mountain bike ride while Nana and I stayed back and relaxed.  Mom felt really good being fueled by a breakfast burrito and cinnamon rolls.  Anyway.   Dad and Mr. Walker were very patient with mom and once she figured out the whole point of mountain biking is not to actually avoid the rocks but ride over them, she did pretty OK.
After that, we all headed down to the Lobo football game for some tailgating with Nana and Mr. Walker's kind of rowdy friends (really!).  I made two new friends Haile and Payton and had all kinds of fun running away from mom and dad.  It was made even more fun because it was parking lot with cars- I heard dad saying something about a leash.  Needless to say, that was a fairly short lived party for me.
We all slept in a little Sunday morning and enjoyed a rainy, cool morning before heading out to get back to reality.  Mom spent a lot to time complaining about how sore her biceps were- I'm not sure what she was talking about.
It was a fabulous weekend and I send big thanks to Nana D, Mr. Walker and Uncle Adam for making it so fun!
