We Made It!!

Whew.  We just finished the longest week on record.  Dad was in Norway/Sweden, 8 hours ahead of us and mom and I held down the fort here.  None of ate very well.  None of us slept very well (Dad in Norway where the sun sets at midnight and rises at 2 AM, mom hearing weird noises and waking up all night). But we all survived!
Mom and I did manage to have some fun during the week.  We had my end of season soccer party on Wednesday and I had a great time running willy nilly all over the restaurant with my soccer buddies.  It was kind of a short night but that was OK because mom and I were tired and came home and crashed.

On Friday, mom took my good friend Camryn and I out to Chuck E Cheese for dinner and games.  We ignored her all night except when it came time to get more tokens.  That ended up working to mom's advantage because she was able to finish up the gobs of paperwork she had for her job.  Probably not the most professional of moves but better that doing it at 9 o'clock on a Friday night!

Saturday was just an awesome day all around!  I got to have my birthday party at Jungle Quest.  It's an indoor rope gym with rope bridges, zip lines, rope swings and rock walls!  We had a blast!  Mom really enjoyed it (seriously!) because a most of the girls were a little afraid and definitely apprehensive to try everything but by the end of the two hours, all of us were experts and had no fear.  Apparently, grown ups think that kind of thing is cool.

This is me on the rope swing- my favorite!

We suckered Camryn's dad into paying $2.00 for us to get in the Hurricane Tube.  Air blew all around us up to 80 mph and we all screamed like the little girls we are.  So Fun!!
After 2 hours of swinging, climbing and zip lining, it was time for cake and presents.

I got some really awesome stuff from my friends but my favorite was the Scarlet Bandit monster truck from Olivia.  Look how crazy excited I am!!

Mom and I got home from the party and I immediately unwrapped all my presents and mom and I played Monster Trucks, Connect 4, Squinkies and dinosaurs.  It was so fun I almost forgot that dad was coming home today.  Almost but not quite.  Dad finally got home about 5:30 and I haven't left him alone for one solitary minutes.  Good thing he's so patient because I've been unrelenting!
Sunday was a good family day.  Mom got in her run, dad his bike ride, we went to Haile for a walk and then headed to Home Depot to get dad a real lawn mower.  Our push mower seems to have rusted from being left out in the snow all winter.  Mom thinks dad did that on purpose but she does like our new one.  Everyone is off to bed early tonight- we have a very busy week coming up!
Sleep well everyone!
