Oh man! What a fun weekend and it didn't even include a trip to Target. I don't know what has gotten into mom and dad!
On Friday, we drove up to Phoenix because mom wanted to see the BodyWorlds exhibit. It is a traveling show with human bodies dissected down to the muscles and preserved in athletic poses so you can really see the muscles. Mom and dad thought it was pretty cool, what they saw of it. All I really wanted to do was crawl around, bang on the display cases and throw my toys at the exhibits. All of mom and dad's usual bag of tricks didn't work on me- ha! No baby bjorn, no stroller, no pacifier. Uh-uh. I gotta move. They kind of tag teamed me but ended up leaving that pretty fast. Fortunately for me, there was a play area in the science center for little kids under 4. Dad and I had a good time there building towers and knocking them down again. We drove home and had our only disappointement all weekend (besides having to go to bed). Our UofA Wildcats lost in the NCAA tournament and looked really bad doing it too. Made dad crabby.
On Saturday, mom and I went for run in the morning and I managed to stay awake the whole time- I had a lot to talk about. That afternoon, we went to a birthday party for one of dad's friends. My blog fans know how much I like a party and this was no different. There were people to see, grass to crawl in, benches to scale and I got to try my first re-fried beans. OOO- are those yummy! We got home and cousin Becky was waiting for us. She ran a 1/2 marathon on Sunday so she spent the night with us. She jumped right in and took over. She got me fed and entertained and mom and dad sat back and relaxed. So nice. Becky and I had a great time and she brought me books from my Aunt Mary Kay. I LOVED them and even took one to bed with me. Thanks AMK!
On Sunday, mom and I walked Sabino Canyon and again, I stayed awake the WHOLE time ( 4 miles worth!). In the afternoon, mom did some binge shopping and dad and I hung out and did a little window shopping ourselves. When mom got home, we all went for our first swim of the season (it has been in the 90's for several days) It was so fun- just like a huge bathtub. The water was a wee bit chilly-76- but we all took a dip and loved it. I can't wait until the water is actually warm to really get into it.
How is a girl supposed to sleep after all this? Have an inspiring Monday!
