Congrats Uncle Adam!

Whew, another whirlwind weekend. We sure have been busy the last few weekends. Last Thursday, we piled into the car for a pleasant 6 1/2 hour drive to Albuquerque for Uncle Adam's college graduation. We are so proud of him! He graduated with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. He made the honor society for his awesome grades. Now with all that hard work, he is going to work with Mr. Walker, who is a mechanical engineer. Now, you may be wondering how a biology degree and engineering fit together. So are we. Uncle Adam will be riding the "green energy" wave and helping to asses homes and businesses for their energy efficiency and helping to design "green" homes. I guess Mr. Walker pays pretty well and both are very excited about working together! (Smirk, smirk:) ). Good luck to both of you in this new adventure.
Anyway, back to moi. We drove all day Thursday and I was great but definately ready to be done with the car. We got to Abq about 4 and mom and dad had a beer while Nana, Mr. Walker, Uncle Adam and I got re-aquainted. So many new things to check out.
On Friday, we were up early and headed out to have my professional pictures retaken. They were the ones I had done last month but they didn't turn out so well. Who would have thunk? After that, dad took me on the merry-go-round and then we went out to lunch for the best Mexican food in all the world. (Los Cuates if you are ever in Abq) I loved my beans and rice and sopapilla. MMMMMMMM. Then it was time for a trip to U. Adam's to see the dog and cat. The cat wasn't to interested in me but Mufasa was pretty patient. After my nap, Nana, mom and I walked to the park where I got to swing and play in the sand. My two most favorite activities behind eating.
On Saturday, while I was napping in the AM, mom and dad got some well deserved couple time and went for a long mountain bike ride. Mom was very excited because this is the first time her mountain bike has seen actual dirt (and water even!) in a very long time!
When they got home, we shifted into high gear, getting ready for U. Adam's party. I was a big help to Mr. Walker. I showed him how to fill and empty the beer cooler. I'm pretty good at that- just a natural talent I guess. At the party, I was big show off. I went up and down the step to the back porch 1,526,783 times (according to mom, who was watching me). It was a grand time!
We left on Sunday morning and mom got to spend her first mother's day in the car but at least it was with family. We got home and took a dip in our not so refreshing 99 degree (really!) pool. I guess it is time to take the pool cover off! It was a very fun weekend with lots of family, friends and fun. I hope everyone had great mother's day weekend!

You are a very helpful girl, Jordan! Are you going to help at your 1st birthday party, packing coolers, etc? ;)
