An improvement

Well, it wasn't a ripsnortin' good time this weekend but it was definite improvement over last weekend. We are a day late posting this week because our power was knocked out until 11 PM last night. It was hot and sticky and it made mom and dad cranky.

Thursday night, mom and dad decided to brave a restaurant with me. Once again, I reminded them why they don't take me out much to eat. I was a little loud and pretty messy. ( I wasn't the one who knocked over a full glass of water though. Mom.) I guess I was a little embarrassing but mom says if you're going out to dinner at 4:30 in the afternoon, you can only expect not to have a peaceful meal. Anyway, I scarfed down a whole bunch of food and then we went to the bookstore and I got to run like a mad woman through the children's section. We ran into one of the other mom's that went through prenatal classes with us at the Birth Center. She is pregnant again. Mom gets a little dizzy thinking about caring for 2 kids under 2. I'm not sure why as I'm a piece of cake.

On Friday, we went to the mall so I could play in the germ zone. I met lots of nice kids who were super interested in the Elmo on my shirt. Mom tried really hard to stand back and let me deal with all of it myself. She did an OK job but still hovers more than most. It's my curse as a first born. That afternoon, we up to the fancy mall because it is so pretty and I love to run around up there and go in the dog store. All in all, a fun day.

On Saturday, mom had to teach a class at the hospital, so dad and I had the day together. We went to the Wildlife museum. We had never been before and probably won't go again. Dad called it a taxidermy heaven- it was a little scary. Live and learn I always say. Saturday night, we had HUGE storm move through and it pulled up our neighbors big tree and blew our pool chairs all over the place. Or so I was told, I was asleep through it. It rained and rained. We had the return of Lake Goedel from last summer and once again, dad was out in calf deep water unclogging holes. Never a dull moment around here.

Sunday was a nice quiet day, with just some chalk drawing on the patio. Ooooo- I love chalk drawing- almost as much as food.

Ta-ta- have a nice week.

How about 4 children, the oldest 3? Or better yet, 7 children and the oldest 11. It was well worth every minute, Leah and Rich, as we celebrate our 49th anniversary!
Love you all,
Aunt Marilyn
