And the Beat Goes On!

Well, the fun just never ends around here. Mom and dad continued in vacation mode with more fun stuff here in Tucson. I hung around the house most of the day Thursday because mom had some stuff to do at work and then she had my orientation to the toddler room at daycare. She thinks I will love it in there but the kids all look HUGE even though they are only up to 2 years old. It should be an interesting transition as I love to dominate in my current room. Our big adventure was a trip to Costco- which is always a good time.
On Friday, mom and I headed out to the city aquatic center at Reid Park. We heard lots of fun things about and since we were still in a water mode, we went to check it out in the morning. To bad for us, the "free swim" didn't start until 1 in the afternoon but people start lining up at 12:15 because they only let 135 people in. How crazy is that?! Who wants to wait in line to go swimming? Certainly not moi. Luckily, we were right next to the zoo, so we headed over there. Even though it was only 9:30 in the morning, it was blazing hot and we were both way too hot. Just when mom was about to give up and go home, we discovered the "Kenya get wet?" exhibit! More water play! Yeah! We had to wait for some of the bigger kids to vacate but they were all nice and it felt so good to get soaked. That little refresher bought us another 45 minutes. The extra time was put to good use (sort of). We then came upon the giraffe feeding. We got two biscuits and were able to feed the new baby giraffe. That made me quite nervous and I really didn't like that extra long, black tongue. I was not loving it and we made a speedy exit. I like giraffes much better from a distance.
That night, my uncle Jim came over for dinner. He is my Nana D's brother and he baptized me last year. His order (he's a priest) was having a convention at a resort here in Tucson. They must have gotten some amazing deal because no one in their right minds comes to Tucson at the end of June. Anyway, he brought another brother from his order and we all had a fabulous time. Uncle Jim read me a bed time story and played on the floor with me. He turned into a bit of a nervous nelly when I showed him how I like to stand on my rocking chair and rock. It was really nice to see him again- he was just from a meeting in Jerusulem and before that was in Italy. He really gets around!
On Saturday, mom and dad took me to the Childrens Museum. More good times with lots and lots of things to keep me occupied.
Today, we stayed low, getting ready to get back to the grind. I have had mom and dad up every night at various times since we got home. Nothing like a little screaming at 2 in the morning to really get everyone revved for the day! Oh yeah, I have been working on using a spoon. I think I'm doing quite well, although it would help if my mouth were a bit bigger. Have a good week!
