So, we fled the 110 degree heat and thoroughly enjoyed the mid 80's heat up in Flagstaff. We drove up on Friday, during which I slept a total of 2o minutes. We did discover the wonders of the portable DVD player however and mom and dad are so thankful to whoever invented that miracle. I've never watched so much Wiggles in my life- heaven! We got checked into our hotel and began the hunt for dinner. We found a fajita cook-off contest but it didn't really start till Saturday, so for 4 bucks, we got a fajita and nothing else. The beans and rice and all the good stuff didn't come out until the next day. Oh well- I was otherwise occupied anyway by the multitude of jumping castles and the very best ride ever- the train. It was an old farmer guy who built his train out of plastic water barrels and then drove me and a few other kids all over the parking lot. It was the most fun I've ever had in my whole life! Grinning from ear to ear and man was I ticked off when I had to get out. I love trains.
On Saturday, we all got up early and drove dad to the start of the hill climb race. Mom and I drove to the finish line to wait for dad and did some hiking around in the mountains. Mom was doing really well until I told her about the "fuzzy brown bear over there!" Ha ha! Pysch, mom! There was no bear! I guess I freaked mom out because next thing I know, we are back in the parking lot, near the car, with people. After dad finished riding, we walked around Flagstaff, went to the Arboretum and did the touristy stuff.
On Sunday, dad went to part two of his race and mom and I went to the playground, the bookstore and then wandered around looking for something for lunch. It was very nice wandering weather. We finally headed home around noon and this time I slept for almost an hour.
Sunday night, we went to our neighbors for dinner and I finally got my hair cut. Can you believe I needed a hair cut? I couldn't see and mom thought I was looking like a disheveled kid whose parents didn't love her. Our neighbor, Sherri, is hair stylist so I got a real cut and not just mom hacking away at my precious locks! I look GOOD!
