Another quiet weekend

We have had another quiet weekend and we aren't quite sure what to do with ourselves anymore. Dad actually mentioned the words "I'm bored" today around 3. We haven't had that problem for awhile!

We didn't do a whole lot Friday- mom slept funny Thursday night and couldn't move her head- at all- so we just stayed home and waited on her. That was loads of fun.

Saturday was hot and muggy so we hit the pool early and then went out to lunch and a little shopping at the fancy mall. Dad finally decided what he wanted for Father's Day. Mom is learning that she shouldn't just buy dad stuff because he really likes only certain stuff so it is better to let him pick out his presents. He settled on some noise canceling head phones. Mom and dad were fighting over them when we got home because apparently it cancels out 4 year old whining quite nicely. Hmpff. We also picked up a volcano model for me at the toy store and we made it and painted it when we got home. It was early to bed for me because I was very tired.

On Sunday, mom headed back into the kitchen for a morning of cooking . She hasn't done that in a long time and that means I get to watch lots of movies. She made chocolate ice cream, home made caramel sauce and for the piece-de-resistance (or however you spell that) she broke out her Mastering the Art of French Cooking and her crepe pan and made a whole bunch of really pretty crepes. She has big plans for them someday.

When dad got back from his very hot and humid bike ride, he and I headed out to the back yard to set off my volcano. We were all ready with our eye protection, etc. but it turned out to be a bit underwhelming.

I still thought it was very cool though- we added dish soap and red food coloring to make it look more real.
We spent the rest of the day relaxing and painting toe nails and finger nails and I was again in bed early. This watching movies all day and not napping is just exhausting!
