This has been a very "transition" type of week for me and it has all been good! It started at school on Monday when I found out I was moving up to the Coyote Room which is for four year olds. Mom told me I was going up until the next Monday so when Ms. Liz came to get me for a "visit", I told her I wasn't supposed to go yet. Thankfully, Ms. Liz insisted I go and it has been sooo good for me. I've known my teacher, Ms. Barbara, since I was a tiny baby and I love Ms. Barbara. Mom has been counting the months until I got to Ms. Barbara's class because she loves her too. She is a very creative, fun teacher who runs a very tight ship and has high expectations of us kids. This will be a good thing. We got to make a pineapple cake on my second day there-it was soooo yummy. Other than that, my week was pretty quiet.
On Friday we picked up Grandma Sue and headed up to Show Low, Arizona to spend the weekend with Grandpa Vern at his summer place. He is an official Snow Bird and that is great news for us because we have a place waiting for us in cool country. (Unfortunately, mom and dad forgot the camera and only had the camera phone. The picture quality isn't great but you'll get the idea.)
We got up there kind of late on Friday, so Grandpa and I only had a little time to horse around before bed. We got up bright and early on Saturday because Grandpa is in charge of cooking the Saturday morning breakfast for the entire park where he lives. They charge $3.50 for an all you can eat pancake, french toast, biscuits and gravy breakfast and then donate the proceeds to a charity every week. I got the pancakes, dad got the french toast and mom got the biscuits and gravy and everything was super delicious. We got to meet lots of Grandpa's friends and got some good advice on where to go fishing.
Once we loaded up on breakfast, we took the boat out to Fool's Hollow lake for a morning of fishing and not catching anything.
We headed back around noon, ate some lunch, took showers and rested for a bit. Then, we got back into the car and drove to "Pioneer Days" in Snowflake but the huge thunderstorm scared us away so Grandpa Vern had us drive to Hawley Lake which was about an hour and half away. It was another amazingly beautiful mountain lake with still no fish for me to catch- but I gave it a good try.
After a full day of driving and fishing, we went out for dinner and then crashed into bed. We got to sleep in a bit on Sunday and took our time getting ready. We squeezed in a good game of softball before we had to head out. We are always sad to have to leave the mountains but we had a great time!
When we got back to Tucson, we headed straight to Costco for our weekly fruit run and saw that they had twin mattress on sale for a really good price. So we bought it, strapped it to the roof of the car and brought it home. We spent the rest of the afternoon re-arranging my room to make the bed fit. I would post some pictures but because we don't have the actual bed frame yet, the mattress is on the floor and it looks a little ghetto. I love my new bed and this transition wasn't hard at all- probably because I'm almost 10 years old and was ready for a new bed.
Have a fabulous week everyone!
