We have had quite the week here, thanks to Mom having her &^%( $# birthday. Dad and I know how to do it up right! Mom's actual birthday was on Thursday, but we all know how she likes to prolong these things. She took the day off work, sent me to school, sent dad to work and she headed out for a pedicure, some shopping and some cheesecake. But- not before she got to open the presents Dad and I got her. Dad and I had snuck off to a paint your own pottery place and I made her and ice cream bowl and dad made her a vase. They both turned out really great and mom LOVES them both. That night, we took her out to my favorite restaurant for my favorite meal of grilled cheese and lemonade. (It can't all be about her, right?)
On Friday, I had a great day at school. It was our "end of summer" party and we had a slip and slide and ice cream with more kinds of toppings than you can imagine. Delish!
Mom and dad picked me up from school and we headed up to La Paloma, a local resort, for a great weekend of rest and relaxation. Ms. Colleen came up to kidsit me and babysit our friend baby Grace and a whole bunch of grown ups went out for a grown up dinner. I guess they had a great time and really good food, but Ms. Colleen took Grace and I out for a big walk around the resort and we got to watch a movie outside and stay up late. It doesn't get better than that!
On Saturday, we were up early and headed out to get prime spots at pool side. This place has a really cool water slide that I was finally old enough to go down this year. You can't tell from this picture, but I had a ball on this thing. I squealed the whole way down every time I went down. Mom could hear me half way across the resort.

After doing the slide thing about a jagillion times, I rested for a bit to recoup some energy and then hit the slip and slide.

That combined two really cool things- a slip and slide AND a jumping castle!
After that, we headed back to the room to rest and recuperate and get ready for dinner. It was a really nice night, so we walked around the resort for awhile and then watched the poolside movie and roasted marshmallows for s'mores. The movie happened to be Finding Nemo so all was right in my world.
We spent most of Sunday doing a repeat of Saturday, so I was one exhausted puppy by the time we got home. I think I was in bed by 6:30.
Monday was a really nice, lazy day. Mom and I went to the park in the morning and then I went with dad to the hardware store. We spent the rest of the day mentally preparing to go back to work and school. Mom is ready to start playing the lottery so she can live the resort life everyday.
I have my first soccer practice tomorrow and I'm all ready. I picked out pink and white soccer shoes and a pink and white ball. Those should match my pink shorts. As long as I look good on the field, does it really matter how I play? I'll let you know how it goes!
