The Pink Ladybugs

We are officially a soccer family now. I started soccer practice this week and so far, so good. The first practice went off without a hitch and I had a great time with Coach Bill and all the other girls on my team. There are 8 of us little girls all together and mom has great respect for Coach Bill because he was able to keep us all focused (for the most part) and on task. That's me in the pink shorts skillfully handling the ball.

The second practice was a little bit more of a challenge. I got super shy all of the sudden and refused to leave mom's side. I started bawling that I was hungry (even though I just ate) so mom snuck off and hid behind the car. Next thing I know, I'm back on the field, having a great time. Whew! Coach Bill was a cow and we had to try and hit him with our soccer balls. He mooed every time we hit him and that totally cracked me up! Then he had us kicking the ball into the goal and every time I made a goal, I roared like a tiger (really, really loud too) and ran back into line. We also got to pick our team name. All of us got to say what we wanted it to be. I really wanted to be the Allosaurs but the Pink Ladybugs won out. I don't think the princesses on my team know what to make of me.....

I had a fantastic weekend, mainly because mom was gone for most of it, so it was just dad and me hanging out. Mom spent the weekend with some girlfriends in a cabin on Mt. Lemmon and had a really nice, relaxing time, drinking wine, eating fondue and talking, talking, talking. Girls weekends are sooo great. But not as great as my weekend with dad. We went to the big toy store and I got a Macroplata (that's a dinosaur that lived in the ocean). Then we went to Peter Piper Pizza where I ate 3 pieces of pizza and played a ton of video games. Then we went out for gelato and came home and watched Kung-Fu Panda. What an amazingly good day!
On Sunday, Grandma Sue came over so dad could get in a bike ride. When he got home, we went to the zoo and I ran myself silly from one animal to the other. We went out for lunch at my favorite grilled cheese place. When we got home, mom was asleep on the couch- apparently worn out from talking so much. She managed to rouse herself and we all hit the pool and had a nice relaxing rest of the weekend.

See you all on Sunday!
