The Gang's All Here!!

We had a very somber start to our week here.  Things are moving back to normal but it has been an interesting (for lack of a better word) experience watching the outside world try to talk about your community, judge your community etc. without actually knowing your community.  It's times like these we are glad that collectively, people have a relatively short attention span.

Thankfully, we had a great diversion roll into town on Thursday- my cousins Brooke, Faith and Uncle Tim and Aunt Dana!  We have been a whirlwind of activity ever since.  That night Grandma Sue and Grandpa Vern came over and grandma brought dinner.  I ate 4 plates of spaghetti- I think I'm growing.
I was very excited because FINALLY someone got to sleep in my trundle bed.  All three of us girls slept in one room and the grown ups were taking bets as to how long it take us to actually fall asleep.  I don't think anyone won because we were all out very quickly.  Ha!

On Friday, mom headed into work and the rest of us lounged around waiting for Grandma and Grandpa.  We got our bags packed and headed up to Sabino Canyon to play in the water.

We spent some time talking to the naturalist after seeing some tracks and she said they saw 3 mountain lions and a fresh kill (a deer) on Blackett's Ridge, which was right above us and is the trail mom went running on a couple of days ago.  Nature is pretty cool, huh?

After a nature filled morning, we hit Peter Piper Pizza for lunch and had a crazy time eating and playing games and came home with all kinds of fun things.
Grandma Sue came over to babysit that night so the adults could enjoy a kid free dinner and indulge their Mexican food craving.

On Saturday, we had another relaxing morning waiting for everyone to get ready and then we headed out to the Arizona- Sonora Desert Museum.

We had a great time checking out all the native animals (mountain lions, wolves,  white tailed deer, rattlesnakes etc.- more nature).  I think my favorite exhibit was the prairie dogs.  One of them walked right up to me and spent about 5 minutes looking right at me.  I think I have mental telepathy with them.  Kind of a cool talent, huh?
I think the best part of the day was when dad bought us all ice cream.  We were getting pretty grumpy at about the half way point when dad saw the Ice Cream sign.  We made a bee-line for the snack shop and re-charged.  Mmmmm-good!

Sunday was another lazy start kind of day which was good since I woke up with a fever and just generally feeling like poo.  Mom got some good drugs into me and perked up enough that I was able to get off the couch.  It's a good thing too because we had a whole bunch of Goedels over for the afternoon.  Grandma and grandpa of course and then my cousins Ashley and Maggie, their mom and dad Sharon and Wayne and Uncle Richard and Aunt Joyce.  It was a houseful and we had a great time with waaay to much food.  We had pulled pork that Uncle Tim had been slow cooking in the oven since midnight, home made potato salad, home made egg rolls and home made King Cake.  Uncle Tim found the prize in the King Cake and so got to be king for the day.  Pretty impressive with all of us princesses around!

Everyone is just astounded by all the girls running around.  The last generation was all boys and it was pretty rough and tumble for cousin Sharon and her sister Jennifer but now, they are getting their revenge!

We have one more day of fun- not sure what is on the schedule for tomorrow but I know it will be good.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
