Well. We have quite the busy week and are kind of tired and grumpy as a result.
Dad went up to Denver on Monday to spend some time with his new team and new boss. He was kind of amazed to be working in a place where people actually seem to have fun at work. It was kind of a nice change of pace for him. Yeah Dad!
Mom and I just hung out and ate cereal for dinner all week until Dad got home on Wednesday. On Thursday, our realtor came over and papers were signed and our house goes on the market on Monday. You can take a wild guess at how we spent the rest of the weekend.
We decided to take Friday night off though and headed to Pinnacle Peak for some steak and root beer floats. After dinner, we rode the train that goes around the restaurant and then I rode the merry-go-round, not once, not twice but three times!
Saturday we had running, biking and tennis followed by crazy cleaning, door repairing, yard work and more cleaning.
On Sunday, mom and I headed to church, then the craft store and then the plant store. While dad was painting the inside of the house, mom and I were busy making Grandma Sue a cool candle holder for her birthday and then we planted all the plants we bought. Mom is sure that is what is going to sell this house. Grandma Sue came over around 4 and saved us from cleaning out more closets and we went out to dinner for her birthday. We went to my favorite grilled cheese place- imagine that! We came home and spent some time hitting the tennis ball around in the driveway. I'm getting pretty good and am getting the grunt down too.
So since last post was about all the things we are going to miss about Tucson, we will list all the things we are looking forward to about Denver: 4 real seasons, being able to cook a lot more soups and stews because it will be cold enough, being able to wear a sweater when we go to pick pumpkins instead of shorts and a tank top, living in a city with a huge, cool downtown, living in a city with professional sports, living so close to the mountains (maybe mom can finally get her Aspen trees in her yard!), living in a city/state that actually cares about public education (woo-hoo!) and for me, I'm looking forward to a house with two stories!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
