So, I guess I should start with the big news of our week/month/year/my lifetime. The Goedel clan is packing up and moving to Denver!
Dad was recruited by the Raytheon division based in Aurora, Colorado. He will be the senior program manager for the Joint Polar Satellite System working with NASA and NOAA. This is a really great opportunity for him and we are very excited and happy for him!
Our last day here in Tucson will be May 15th so we should be getting out of Dodge just before the heat hits and making it to Denver just as it warms up- perfect timing! We are looking forward to many great adventures in our new home but will definitely miss Tucson. Mom is making a mental inventory of everything she will miss: Grandma Sue and Grandpa Vern, our great friends, her great job, our great church, our pool and believe it or not, she will miss the heat. She has spent the last 5 years complaining about how much she hates the cold. The good news is, we hear nothing but great things about Colorado and the Denver area. Everybody we talk to just loves it up there so we aren't too worried.
So back to our regularly scheduled program-
Our week was pretty quiet with mom and dad trying to get everything in order to start this whole moving thing.
Saturday was business as usual- running for mom, biking for dad and tennis for me. In the afternoon, we watched our poor Wildcats take it to the buzzer and lose by 2 heartbreaking points. It was a great, unexpected season for them and it was a good game! Dad and I had a daddy/daughter evening while mom met her friend Shari out for dinner.
Sunday was church and a donut for me in the morning. Grandma Sue and Grandpa Vern came over and we all went out to lunch at a new, very yummy Korean restaurant that had a real Korean grandma cooking in the kitchen. The food got a "thumbs-up" from Grandma Sue so it must have been good! After that, mom, dad and I headed up to the fancy mall to spend some gift certificates and get some ice cream.
For being a boring, pretty quiet weekend, we are all exhausted and I was a complete monster tonight with lots of crying, yelling etc. I told mom I loved the dogs more than I loved her. Take that mom! Sleep will be a good thing for me!
See you in a week!
