Our First Visitors!

Another week has flown by and we continue to really enjoy it up here.  We got into a little bit of a routine this past week because mom started work on Monday.  It was really tough going back.  She worked for 3 hours on Monday and 2 hours on Wednesday and it was all she could do not to collapse into bed when she got home.  Actually, she enjoyed her first few days- she is working in an assisted living facility doing a combination of home health (which she loves) and outpatient orthopedics (which she loves).  The best part about the job is the flexibility- as long as she gets her patients seen, she can work whenever.  Gotta love that!
While mom was working her butt off, I spent some time at my day camp.  It is still hard for mom to drop me off with all of the big kids but I'm doing OK with the whole thing.  On Monday, we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and on Wednesday, we went to a farm to pick veggies.  I had a great time on both trips.  This week, I get to go mining for gold and then to a climbing gym.  Woo-hoo!
Dad was out of town again for work and came home late Thursday night.  We sure missed him but in his place, we got Uncle Tim, Aunt Dana and Brooke and Faith who came out for a visit!  They came in Tuesday night and it was non-stop craziness until 5 AM Sunday morning when they headed back to airport.
On Thursday, I took them to one of the three very cool parks near my house:

We rode scooters and played some soccer and enjoyed the cool, non- humid weather.

Dad got home late Thursday night, so when we got up Friday morning, we made sure to give him lots and lots of our attention so he wouldn't feel left out.  He was very happy about that, as you can tell!

On Friday, Uncle Tim and Aunt Dana had some errands to run, so it was mom and dad and the three of us girls.  We headed out to the other of my favorite parks and had a fabulous time burning off energy.

On Saturday, the whole gang went out to explore the area around us.  We started at Chatfield State Park which has a huge lake, picnic areas and some hiking trails.  We tried a lake side lunch but were run out by the huge mosquitos, thunder and lightning.  It was beautiful though and we will be back but with a huge can of Off!

After Chatfield, we headed over to Roxborough State Park which was absolutely gorgeous!  Really cool, red rock formations and beautiful green trees and grass.  We got caught in another thunderstorm, so didn't get to hike very far but we will definitely be returning here also.

We managed to get in a short hike before being scared in by lightening and Faith spotted this deer munching away right next to the trail.  That was the highlight of our trip along with spotting coyote poop.  It was a big day!

Everyone was up early (5AM early) to see the Dallas Goedels off, so we had a laid back Sunday.  We laid around a lot in the morning, took short naps in the afternoon and then headed to yet another really cool park with 2 different splash pads and a wading pool that looks like a river.
We are all off to bed early because has to be to work at 10 tomorrow.  Poor thing- she works sooo hard! Have a great week everyone!
