Outside wandering

Well, this weekend wasn't all about me but it was still pretty fun. Friday got off to a rough start. Mom overslept by about 40 minutes, so I had to pay for it by having to "hurry, hurry" all morning. I'm just so not into hurrying in the morning but we did make it to school and work on time. Dad had the day off and spent it doing MORE yardwork. We had 15 tons (yes, tons. We have a huge backyard) of gravel, a roll-off dumpster and a Bobcat delivered Friday morning and dad went to town dumping stuff, building mounds and dumping gravel. It might have been a total wash of a day except that his new bike was ready for pick-up. He bought a special bike just for riding time trials in races. He says I'm still number one in his life but it feels a little like when the iphone came home.
On Saturday, we made the yard work a family affair. I was the dirtiest, messiest little girl you've ever seen. I LOVE playing in the rocks and spent a good deal of the day with my pants down around my ankles, filling them with rocks. Then I would pull them up and try to walk around. I guess you just gotta try it because it is more fun than I can describe. I also spent a lot of time climbing to the top of the humongous gravel pile and sliding down belly first, helping mom move rock and spread gravel and supervising dad on the bobcat. We were all pretty beat by the end of the day but the good news is, the yard is all done.... for now. We have some painting and planting to do but for now, we are just going to enjoy it!
Sunday, we spent a lot of time outside wandering around. We didn't know what to do with ourselves, since we didn't have any yardwork to do. Mom and I wandered over to the park to watch the soccer tournament, then wandered back home. Mom, dad and I wandered (in our car) over to a new park we hadn't been to before and had a picnic and then wandered around there for awhile. It was a really pretty park with lots of ducks and a really pretty day for wandering. Wish we could do it more! Wishing you all a wanderful week!
