Apples, no apples

I'm exhausted.  This has been a busy weekend for real.  Not like other weekends where I SAY we were busy but really weren't.
On Friday night, dad and I hung out and watched Curious George while mom went to a debate watching party (GEEK!)  Mom had a good time and so did dad and I.
On Saturday, I had my art class in the morning and I got to make a big fish.  Mom tried to take a picture of it with me but I wouldn't stand still.
On Sunday, we were up at o'dark thiry (mom and dad at 3:45 and me at 4:30) headed out to dad's final bike race of the year, the Mt. Graham State Championship Hill Climb.  It was 20 miles of brutal uphill climbing.  Mom and I drove to the top and we were tired after that.  Imagine poor dad.  Mom and I met some really nice people at the top and one lady gave me a locally picked apple that was a big as my head.  I worked on that thing all morning until I dropped it in the dirt.  Sadness.  Dad finished his race (and was not too sad to see the season end) and we all headed back down the mountain to Willcox, AZ to pick apples of our own.  We ate lunch in the orchard and then headed out on our fruitless (yes, pun intended) search for apples.  After wandering around in the 90 degree heat and 50 mile an hour winds and not finding any apples, we decided just to buy them at the store.  They were just as tasty and much easier to come by.  We got home, took much needed showers and then headed out to meet Brian and Christina for dinner.  I was just a bit of a handful at dinner and mom and dad were a little embarrassed as we kept getting sidelong glances from other people.  It was good practice for using my inside voice.  Everyone is in bed early tonight and wishing desperately that it wasn't Monday tomorrow.
