Mt. Graham

So, here it is Wednesday already. How time flies when you are having fun! The week has been quiet as usual but we had a nice weekend before it.
On Friday, we went to see "Up" at the movies. I thought it was OK but mom and dad really liked it. It was a very sweet story- if you're old like mom and dad are. After that we went out for dinner and then I insisted on going to the gelato store so I could get my bubble gum gelato.
I was up at the crack o' dawn Saturday which I guess kind of irritates mom and dad. Something about "their only morning to sleep in for the next week". I don't know. Whatever.
We spent most of the day doing yard work. I was a huge help with sweeping all the rocks and dirt off the patio. Mom swears we did something fun after that but no one can seem to remember what it was, so how exciting could it have been?
On Sunday, we were up at 4AM and headed to the Mt. Graham Hill Climb. It is a 20 mile bike race up a mountain. Mom and I dropped dad off at the bottom for the start of the race. We drove to the top, eating poptarts and fruit roll ups on the way, to meet him there and cheer everyone on.

I brought my cowbell that I got in Silver City watching Lance Armstrong and did a great job cheering all the riders on as they crossed the finish line. I did amazingly well considering there wasn't much to keep a 3 year olds attention. We did go for a short hike to collect "stuff" in my bucket and I managed to find 3 huge pine cones so that was pretty cool.

Dad did pretty good this year. He beat his time from last year by about 2 minutes AND he did it riding on a flat rear tire. He had to ride the last 3 miles on his tire rim. That is him in the white racing toward the line. Can you see how flat his tire is?!
We came home from the race and Grandma Sue came over to babysit while mom and dad headed out to see Spamalot. It was very funny and ridiculous and well worth the time and effort to get back to town in time for it.
See you Sunday!
