Dad picked me up from school on Friday and we all went to my favorite sandwich place for grilled cheese and lemonade and then to Frost for gelato. Just our typical Friday night.
Mom was a bit under the weather on Saturday and spent most of the day sleeping. We did venture to the hardware store (which was packed- must the thing to do on boring Saturdays) and dad spent the afternoon trying to eradicate the ticks our dogs seemed to have acquired.
On Sunday, mom and I were headed out to church when we got a call from dad. He blew out a tire and needed a ride home. Lucky for everyone, he broke down about as far from our house as he could get. It was about an hour and 20 minutes round trip but it was a nice morning for a drive. Mom and I ended up going to the children's mass which is always mom's favorite. The entire service was bordering on complete chaos.
After that, mom went to really fun baby shower. The mom-to-be is Japanese from Hawaii so there was Taiko drumming, hula dancing and a Hawaiian band. It was a real party and no searching for diaper pins in rice at this shin-dig!
We spent the afternoon swimming and playing cars and dinosaurs and then off to bed.
