Whew! I'm a little tired! We had a very busy, fun weekend. In fact, it was so fun that mom had to take the Monday off work to recover. I, of course was dumped at school this morning. Mom seemed in a hurry to start her "me" day. Anyhooo....
Mom and I headed to Albuquerque on Thursday for the weekend to rendezvous with Grandma Walker, Aunt Priscilla and Uncle John who were coming in from Ohio.
We got there in the morning and spent most of the time outside enjoying the sunny blue skies and blowing bubbles. When Grandma finally got there, we snuggled down on the couch together and watched "How to Train Your Dragon". Grandma is the best snuggler ever- we have many pictures of Uncle Adam and Grandma on this same couch.
We had a really nice dinner with the whole gang when Aunt Erin and Uncle Adam came down. That was especially exciting- I spent most of the day asking when Auntie Erin was going to be there. She is the only one that I really like to play with. She gets me all riled up, gets me into trouble and helps me make up jokes. (Ask me about the pig that knows karate!! I think it's really funny and my delivery is spot on!)
On Friday, the ladies went down to the Botanical Gardens for lunch and to wander for the afternoon. It was another beautiful day- the leaves were changing, the pumpkins were out and we had a good day of burning off energy (me) and catching up with family (everyone else)
We got home in the afternoon and because I'm 4, I still had some energy to spare. I happened to notice all the leaves falling off the maple tree in the backyard so Mr. Walker put me to work sweeping up porch. I was more than happy help but I did insist on Mr. Walker holding the dust pan.
On Saturday, we packed up and headed up to Uncle Adam and Aunt Erin's house for lunch. They have an awesome house in the mountains (which mom covets and would move into in a heartbeat) AND they now have 4 dogs. Once I gave little Jazzy-Poo her lovin', I headed out to spend quality time with Mufasa, Lilly and the newest addition, Abby. I now want 5 dogs at my house.
After lunch, mom and I headed out with the boys for a hike. You can literally walk out the front door and the entire system of hiking trails is right there. (Did mom mention how much she wants this house?) We hiked up to a fire lookout and then headed back down. I'm turning into quite the little hiker- mom is planning some trips when we get back to Tucson.
By now, I was getting a bit tired but we had to pose for 10 million pictures. Ugghh. Aunt Erin's grandma came up for lunch too. Both Grandma's are 90+ years old- I wasn't so impressed but everyone else is, there for, lots of pictures... Booring.
(Maybe this picture could go on the Awkward Family Photos website?)
Mom and I finally headed headed home on Sunday which also happened to be Halloween!!
Dad picked us up at the airport (ending his bachelor weekend!) and we got to work on the festivities.
Mom made me help pull the guts out of the pumpkin which was really kind of gross. I did it just to amuse her and surprise! More pictures! I'm perfecting my eye rolling technique here.Dad had me draw the faces on the pumpkins and then he carved what I drew. They actually turned out pretty dang good, if I do say so myself.
Before we headed out for "official" trick or treating, we stopped by our neighbors who are crazy about Halloween. Ms. Shari really got into the spirit of things......
I got so much candy that dad had to carry my bucket by the time we were done. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on whose perspective you are taking) I had to give most of my stash to mom and dad because of the dang peanut thing. The good news is, I still love what I have left.
I think our upcoming week will be pretty quiet- see you on Sunday!
