The End is Near

We are getting a sense impending doom here.  Last weekend during our trip to the park, we discovered that the water had already been shut off to the water fountains, our sprinklers were blown out today and there is a big storm heading our way with a supposed high of 31degrees and snow.  It looks like our glorious fall is about over.  It was sure nice while it lasted!

Other than our life as we know it ending, it was a decent week.  Dad was in Washington D.C. for most it but made a reappearance on Thursday.  We are always happy to have him home!
Our Friday was pretty quiet because everyone was tired, even mom who to actually work now.  We made an exciting trip to Costco and then came home.  Didn't even make it out to eat.  B.O.R.I.N.G.
Saturday was much better though.  We had a quiet day hanging out and relaxing.  That night, my friend Alex who lives 3 houses down had a big pumpkin carving party!  So many kids, so many pumpkins to be carved.  His mom turned their basement into the official pumpkin carving spot and we made a huge mess of it.  Way to much fun!

We ended up with some pretty awesome pumpkins and our street is going to look very cool come Halloween!

After running around like a crazy lady for most of the night, I slept in Sunday morning.  When I finally made my appearance, mom and I decided to enjoy one of our last beautiful fall days.  We headed out for a morning hike in the hills behind our house.  Just an amazingly perfect fall day!

We came home from that and headed out for a family shopping trip to find me some real winter shoes.  Mom and dad are thinking the open toed Keens I've been living in probably won't hold up in the snow that is supposed to hit us on Wednesday.  I got two pretty decent pairs of boots that should hold me over until we figure out what people really wear on their feet when it's cold.
After that, we partook in another awesome fall ritual of raking up leaves.  I've never done it before but have been talking about since the first leaf dropped 4 weeks ago.  It was almost as much fun as I imagined it would be !  I'm sure shoveling snow will be almost as much fun!

Dad and I are heading off to Dallas to visit with Uncle Tim, Aunt Dana, Brooke, Faith, Grandpa Vern and Grandma Sue.  Mom will be here holding down the fort so I'm sure fun will be had by all!
