On Sunday, mom ran in her first ever 5K race. She is extremely impressed with herself as she finished 63rd out of 130 and 8th in her age group. She paced the last mile with the president of the Southern Arizona Roadrunners club, who was an olympic qualifier in '96. Before you "ooh and aah" over that, just know that not only was he almost walking, he was also pushing a stroller. He was a good motivator though. Dad and I cheered her on and she was very happy to finish with fanfare! We got home and dad went out for a long, hard bike ride, getting ready for a race next weekend and when he got home, mom dragged us out to the park for my first ever swing experience. I'm not so sure I liked it yet. I didn't feel like taking my head off the chain of the swing. I did really like the wood chips on the ground though and had fun digging holes and building piles with that.
I've been pretty cranky the last few days and really haven't been into that nap thing the past few days. It has thrown mom out of whack too because I used to nap like clockwork from 8 to 10 AM but no more. She's lucky if I give her 30 minutes now. She's hoping its just a phase (or maybe finally some teeth!) and that I'm not turning into a non-napper. Our friend Carter does that and his poor parents were exhausted! On the plus side, I've been yapping up a storm. Apparently, mom and dad spy on me making my speeches in my crib when I'm supposed to be napping. I just like to stand up and let everyone know how it is, loudly. Hope everyone has a restful week!

Your Mom and Dad better get that swing picture blown up to poster size to hang over the fireplace mantle. It's a great picture!
Ooooh- that napping thing is no good. Paigey is a bad, bad "napper" (if you can even call it that). It is very sad for tired parents!
Way to go Ms. Leah! We are so proud of you for your running race!
