1...2...3...4...5..

Well, this was a "take a deep breath and count to 10" kind of weekend for mom and dad. Apparently, I was a bit of a problem. It was our first weekend without something to do for the past 2 months, so all mom and dad wanted to do was relax. We did OK with that Friday night. We all went to bed at a decent hour and woke up at a decent hour on Saturday. Dad still wasn't feeling good but went for a bike ride anyway and mom and I went for a run. Then we spent the morning putting around the back yard and cleaning up the porch(I guess so we have someplace to sit and look at the pile of dirt that is our backyard). I went down for a nap easily enough but woke up in the foulest of moods. All I want is to be picked up (all the time) and get my way (all the time) and when I didn't I just let mom and dad know in a calm, collected manner that that wasn't OK. This involved throwing myself to the floor and screaming. A high pitched, window cracking, shrill scream. Over and over and over again . Mom and dad decided it was time to get out of the house. We went to the UofA agricultural center where they have all kinds of farm animals. We hung out by the horses for awhile and then walked around in the dirt. That was a pretty cool adventure. After that, we went to a mucho yummy gelato shop and had some mucho yummy gelato. Mom and dad were extra excited when they found out another one is opening just around the corner from their house- walking distance! Yeah! Anyway, it seemed like a good idea until we got home and mom noticed a rash on my back, chest, armpits and around my diaper and ankles. It was so itchy. It sent mom into panic mode because I had both peanut butter and chocolate and she immediately thinks peanut allergy. She really didn't want to call the doctor and tell her that I got both of those foods for the first time on the same day. It makes her sound not so smart as a mom. Even if she isn't, we don't want everyone knowing that! Anyway, they called the doctor who wasn't any help at all. Mom decided that it was a heat rash, dad thinks it is an allergy. Either way, it is gone today and I'm back to the same old, same old diet because they are to afraid to try anything new.
I woke up today in a MUCH better mood. Mom and I went to church this morning but mom didn't get much out of it as she kept having to chase me down as I ran toward the choir and priest every chance I got. God bless her! Not much happened the rest of the day, other than me ABSOLUTELY REFUSING to take a nap. Mom and dad tried three times and I wasn't going to do it. Just had to throw a few more 15, 20 minute fits. Some of mom's friends have more patience than that but it was just that kind of weekend. Finally, to break up the monotony, Grandma Sue dropped by with the coolest car. It's pink and makes all kinds of noise. No, there isn't a volume switch- dad already checked. Cool. THEN, Grandpa Vern came by with a rocking horse that converts into a tricycle when I'm older. How spoiled am I? I have the toy grandma (Grandma Sue) and the clothes grandma (Nana D).
We all went out to dinner and I ate my entire plate of beans, rice and quesadilla. Whew- I am a happy girl.
So mom and dad are kind of glad to be going to work tomorrow. Something about needing to rest their ear drums. Hope everyone has a quiet week!

Paige here: I hate sleeping too. Yesterday, I was up by 5:30 a.m, took a 1 hr. nap and didn't go to sleep until 10:30p.m! Oh, it's so fun to mess with your parents like that!
