The Best Laid Plans....

Well, I thought I would have a really fun weekend to blog about but no. Our 2010 continues to be a bust. Frankly, I'm getting a little tired of it all.
Dad had Friday off and we had big plans to do a father/daughter camp-out with my friend Madeline and her dad. Both moms were very excited as well but I'm not really sure why. Anyway, dad picked me up from school and my teacher told him I wasn't feeling well but I bounded out of my classroom all ready to go. That lasted until we pulled in our driveway and I projectile vomited all over the inside of Dad's jeep. If you know how dad feels about his vehicles, you probably know that he was torn over where to put his attention. Of course, I won out and he got me cleaned up and settled down before he headed out to clean out the jeep.
Mom got home and was able to maintain a fairly upbeat attitude but that was probably because she had plans to go out anyway with her friends. She stuck around long enough to make sure I was OK and she headed out.
I felt better on Saturday but still pretty tired so we just hung around the house most of the day. We going to try and get up to Phoenix to go to my cousin Becky's graduation from medical school (Way to go Becky!) but mom figured she didn't want to be handing out any more germs than necessary. It would have been a fun time.

By Sunday, I was all back to normal and bouncing off the walls. Dad and I got in some art time before he went out for a ride. Mom and I headed out to the farmer's market. We bought some argula and some locally raised, free range, natural, grass fed beef. She's been reading up on it and thought it was time to take the very expensive plunge. It will have to be a veeeerrry special occasion before she breaks out that hamburger but I'm sure it will be worth it. Some how, I don't think I'll be getting much of that!
After lunch, the whole fam headed out to the park for a little swinging and softball. Dad only beaned me twice with the ball. It was an accident and didn't really hurt either time but I had to cry and make a scene anyway just to make him feel bad.
We came home and enjoyed our patio for a bit. It was just a bit though because shortly after this picture was taken, dad could be found hugging the toilet himself. Deep sigh. Mom is just waiting her turn to catch this one as well. 2010 is going to get better, right? Of course it is!
