Silver and Gold

We have had a great few days full of family, old friends and new friends. And we finally dried out from a very wet week here.
Nana D and Mr. Walker arrived on Wednesday night. I was supposed to be in bed but managed to sneak in one more bathroom trip before I went to sleep and got to see them. On Thursday morning, it was business as usual for us but Nana helped me get ready for school and with her help, I completed my duties in record time. Wish I could have Nana here all the time! On Thursday night, we all headed out to El Charro for dinner with some old friends from Albuquerque who happened to be town this weekend also. Joann and George have been friends with Nana and Mr. Walker for forever. Joann knew mom when mom was a snotty teenager and she still likes her (I think!). I made Mr. Walker get me ready for bed that night but he isn't fooled by my stalling tactics like mom and dad, so again, I was ready in record time.
Thursday night, it rained and rained and rained some more. We woke up to yet another fire pit full of water.
On Friday, mom and dad had a date night and went out to dinner and to a Broadway show and had a fabulous time. I had an even better time because Nana, Mr. Walker and I went to my favorite sandwich place for dinner and then I talked them into taking me out for gelato after. Life doesn't get much better than that! Oh, and it rained all night again.
Nana and Mr. Walker left Saturday morning and we spent a quiet day at home.
On Sunday, mom's old friend Vanessa came over with her husband Rob and son Ian and baby Elly. They live in Pittsburg so I've never met Ian but we got along famously mainly because we both really like cars and trucks. Of course, I would pick today of all days to make mom drag out my doll house which I haven't played with in months. Ian was trooper though and ran the cars all over the doll house too.

After it warmed up a bit, we went outside and I got to show Ian how to fish in our fire pit. That is a really fun game to play especially after it rains!
That night, our friends Joann and George came over for dinner as they were staying in Tucson until Monday afternoon. We had a great time having grown up conversation about stuff other than kids. I can't imagine what else there would be to talk about besides kids, but they managed to fill a whole evening with it!
So overall, a very nice weekend. Hopefully this week will continue on the same note!
