Maybe now it is just a self-fulfilling prophecy. We just need to change our mindset and all will be right with the world. We a roof over our heads, food on our table and a family that loves us. We just don't have our health (or heat- but more on that later).
Mom and I ended up staying home on Thursday because I had such a high fever and was just miserable on Wednesday. I woke up feeling pretty darn good on Thursday, but mom on the other hand woke up sick. I was amazingly good for her all day while she tried desperately to stay awake and stay upright. We made it through the day all in one piece and I didn't watch one single second of TV all day. Don't even ask me how that happened but it did and mom was very happy about that!
On Friday, we all headed back to school/work. I stayed all day, mom only made it through a half day of work before she came home and went back to bed. Grandpa Vern came over Friday night and took me and dad out to dinner so mom could be miserable in peace.
On Saturday, I still felt good and mom woke up feeling pretty perky and was very excited because we had actual plans to get out of the house and go to a friends birthday party. So, while dad was out riding, mom and I painted our toenails...

Made
Mardi-
Gras masks (a few days late)......

And made egg carton caterpillars!

We had a really fun morning. I think it was too much fun because about noon, mom was completely wiped out again and spent the rest of the day in bed sleeping. Which of course meant, no fun party with our friends. In the end, that may have been a good thing because we noticed that my "
Amoxicillan Rash" was getting progressively worse even though I hadn't taken any for 2 1/2 days. I woke up Sunday morning looking like one big itchy, red hive from head to toe. We spent the day just watching it and giving me
Benedryl with thoughts of heading to the ER because we don't mess around with rashes that looks like allergies. We decided not to go because I didn't seem to distressed by it, other than itching and we had tickets to go see "Walking with the Dinosaurs"! I think this was about the coolest thing I've seen so far in my young life- life size dinosaurs right here in Tucson. I loved it BUT we left at intermission because my rash seemed to be getting worse and mom and dad were freaking out a bit. I only got to see an
Allosaur,
Pleidosaur (
sp?), a
Brachiosaurus, a
stegasaurus and a
pterydactyl. We left before I got to see my favorite T-Rex and triceratops.

Instead of spending our evening watching something really cool, we spent the evening in the ER, which is almost as exciting. It was absolutely packed. We practically waited outside and washed our hands every 10 seconds to avoid any further nastiness. We'll see if we made it. (Dad isn't feeling great tonight). It turns out I have
Erythema Mulitforme which is an allergic reaction to either the bacteria that caused my ear infection or to the
penicillin I was taking. There is nothing to be done about it, just let it run its course. We finally headed home about 10 PM and fell into bed.
Today was all fine and good until our heater broke tonight. We are all very happy about that one and can't wait to get the bill for it.
Lovin' this year!!
P.S. Mom is kind of excited about the US ski team and especially Bode Miller- awesome skiing by all of them!
