So back to happy, healthy me. Mom took me to see my doctor about my rash on Tuesday. She thinks most likely it was related to the virus and not the penicillin. Yipee! She wants me to check in the allergist anyway so we are heading off to see him on Friday.
The rest of the week was fairly quiet.
On Friday, dad left bright and early to head up for a bike race in Las Vegas. He forgot about the time change and didn't realize until too late that he didn't have to get up quite so bright and early- live and learn. This is his first big race as a category 3 racer and has noticed that the competition is definitely more competitive- ouch! Let's just say in the first day of racing, if he had stayed a cat 4 racer, he would have done much, much better.
Friday night, mom and I had a Girl's night out. We went out for grilled cheese and lemonade for dinner. Then we went to see the Princess and the Frog. I enjoyed the music a lot and danced my way out of the theater. After the movie, we went out for ice cream. Mom was practically ka-put after all that activity so off to bed we went.
We woke up Saturday, with mom still feeling like poo. I got to watch a lot of TV on Saturday and mom lost some of her senses and fell asleep on the couch- WHILE I WAS AWAKE!! I was very good and didn't burn down the house or anything. Mom was lucky. Dad wasn't fairing much better up in Vegas. He had a 70 mile road race in rainy, 50 degree weather. He got dropped pretty quickly and spent a lot of time cursing life. But- kudos to him for sticking with it and finishing.
On Sunday- mom was a little perkier but not much. I got to watch just a little TV and then miracle of miracles, Grandma Sue showed up! Mom took a quick shower and high- tailed it out of the house. ( How sick could she be??) Grandma and I had a great time and made all kinds of great art. Mom went to the hardware store and the book store. She came home with a book called "Positive Discipline for Preschoolers". Hmmm. I wonder what's up with that?
Mom and I spent the afternoon playing "quiet games". We had left overs for dinner and in one final burst of energy, we made rice krispy treats. They turned out even better this time than last. I even told mom "These are the best things EVER!"
Meanwhile, up in Vegas, things weren't going much better for dad. Today was the criterion part of the race and he was doing OK until a nagging hamstring "thing" became more than nagging. He ended up pulling himself out of the race. No sense in wrecking yourself for the rest of the season, right? Then on the way home, the highway he was on was closed which mean he got turn around, back track for 3 hours and then take a different route home. We expect him home some time next year.
So that's about it for our exciting weekend. Sorry no pictures Uncle Adam- you can check on facebook for some though!
