2 for 2!

Woo-hoo!! Another healthy weekend! Turns out my cough was a false alarm and probably really just allergies.
We had a gorgeous weekend weather wise and spent a lot of time outside.
Dad had Friday off and got the privilege of taking me into school. That meant mom got the luxury of sleeping in a bit which made the day that much better all around! While mom was busy working and I was busy learning, dad was busy racing in the first stage of the Tucson Bike Classic. He didn't finish last so he was very happy about that! He got home about 6 and we all chowed down on pizza. I had 4 slices but to be fair, I don't eat the crust, so really, I only had 2 pieces. Mom and dad made sure nothing went to waste though!

(My 41 HotWheels, lined up and ready to go)
(Daisy being quite the trooper again)

I started getting ready for bed at 8 but by the time I got all my stories read, went potty 4 times, said goodnight to the dogs etc., etc, I finally fell asleep about 9:30. Mom and dad were thinking they were going to finally get to sleep in but sleeping in is over-rated. I was up at 5:15.
Dad headed out for day two of his race while mom and I relaxed at home. Mom finished up her back splash (kind of). It looks pretty good but as with all of mom's home "improvement" projects, it's best not to spend to much time looking at it. It doesn't look overly professional.

After that exhilarating morning, we packed up and headed out to Sierra Vista to my cousin Ashley's birthday party. It took me a little while to get warmed up but once I did, I had a great time. We got to jump in the jumping castle, play on the swing set, eat chocolate ice cream cake and hot dogs. Mom dragged me away from the party about 3 and we headed back to Tucson to meet up with dad and some of his bike team for dinner. I got to sit next to Jayden (who is 5) and we had so much fun. I brought my bucket full of cars and she brought a purse full of lipstick and nail polish. Mom had the best time watching us. Jayden taught me all about lipstick and "girl stuff" and I taught her all about Hot Wheels. The best part was that we kept each other entertained so the adults had a somewhat peaceful night.

On Sunday, dad had the last stage of his race. He probably should have stayed home. He started the day by backing over his $500.00 racing wheel and then driving by the park, his windshield got hit by something and cracked and then during the race, he crashed (but didn't hurt anything thankfully), got dropped by the pack and had to finish the race by himself. :(
While dad was miserable, mom and I headed out to the Tucson Festival of Books. This is its second year and it's HUGE. We had a great time in the children's area making all kinds of art projects, decorating book bags and meeting story book characters.

I got to meet Clifford and that was kind of the highlight of my day. I love Clifford but he wasn't quite as big as I though he was. Oh well- still fun.

We picked up lunch and headed to Old Main on the University of Arizona campus for a picnic and a rest before the long walk back to the car.

I got home and rested for about half an hour and then dad and I met Grandpa Vern for some bowling. I'm gettin' goood! I'm so good that Grandpa and dad were afraid to bowl against me. They were my assistants and were big helps!

Have a good week everyone!
