The monsoon is really kicked up this year- maybe just for me?! We got another huge storm last night with lots of lightning and thunder and tons of rain. At least another inch at our house. Mom and dad figure that the city of Tucson drains into our backyard as we now have about 8 inches of standing water in our backyard. Our backyard is a mess. Daisy and Haile (our dogs) were out chasing birds and garbage trucks in the lake this morning and then running into the house- all over moms newly mopped floors. Mom is ticked because we worked hard on those floors. Oh well, now it is dad's turn!
Speaking of birds, we had a bird build a nest in one of mom's geraniums this spring and hatch babies. Now there is another pair of babies and they eat almost as often as I do. We can hear them chirping when mama bird is feeding them. Mom feels bad for mama bird that she has to go forage for food when I've got a 24 hour diner at my beck and call.
The big news is that dad broke down and bought a new truck. My car seat didn't fit in the back of his old truck and we really wanted to go camping and stuff. He is now the proud owner of a Nissan X-terra- off road version of course. Mom took it out for drive and she really likes it as well. They may have to negotiate a trade once in a while. Not that mom doesn't love her Honda, but new cars are so fun!
