We came home and dad planted some more stuff in our backyard. Our neighbor who happens to be a landscape architect stopped by and settled an argument for mom and dad about where to plant the Texas Ranger. Dad won so mom is miffed. Either way, everything is blooming, birds are hatching and we have our own little nature preserve back here.
On Sunday, dad went for another bike ride and mom and I headed out to the zoo. It turned out to be a very traumatic morning for me because the Susan Komen Race for the Cure was going on with the start of the race at the zoo. No way, no how were we even getting close. It may be a great cause but all I know is that I didn't get to go to the zoo and I was MAD. Sooo, we made a potty stop at McDonalds (didn't get anything to eat though) to give mom time to think and then made a detour to the Splash Park. The water was a wee bit chilly and I was a wee bit apprehensive about going in but don't you know, within about 5 minutes, I was ready to strip down to my birthday suit and GET WET! I got my shirt off but mom drew the line and made keep my pants on. Seems kind of silly in retrospect but that is kind of mom's style.
After that, we went to the party store to look for my birthday party invites. We snagged the last of the Dora the Explorer invitations. Thank goodness because that would have been my second major let down of the day. I couldn't take much more.
In the PM, mom headed out to the bookstore and came home with a cookbook called 500 Cakes. She was looking for 500 Salads but apparently, that wasn't such a good seller.
