Hot temperatures, hot tempers!

It is blasted hot here and it stinks- 110 degrees yesterday.  Ugh.  At least it is good swimming weather.  I have been just as ornery as the weather the past few days so mom is taking lots of deep breaths.  I have been peppering her with "STOP talkin' to me!!" (with the hand gesture), "leave me alone!" and the always popular, simple "NO!"  And just when I'm about to be put out to the curb, I give mom and dad a big group hug and say "My family!  I love ya'!"  and that makes everything just right again.

I have been in my "Why?" phase for a few months now but I'm getting much more upset if mom doesn't give me a good answer.  I will not tolerate "I don't know" for answer to such questions as "Why is that a Volkswagen?", "Why is it summer?"  "Why do people live in that house?"  "Why is the car going that way?"  I get kind of ticked off when mom says "I don't know" and yell back at her "YES YOU DO!!!".

And lastly on our list this week:  I am staying up waaaay past my bedtime.  I haven't gone to sleep until 9:30 for the past 3 nights.  I've also been asking to have my door unlocked so I can go to the bathroom (fair enough) but the potential freedom is more than I can handle and I spend a lot of time opening and closing my door when I should be sleeping.

Mom is attributing all the behavior to the heat- it is supposed to cool off some this weekend, so maybe I will too!
